Ted [to Stella in his dream encounter]:You picked the wrong guy.
Ted:You picked the wrong guy. You made a really, really, really bad choice. What were you thinking? That guy? Are you kidding me? Have you learned nothing in the last eight years? You're just gonna regret this. You know that, right? You are going to regret this, and now there is nothing you can do about it because it's too late. All you can do now is go up there and start your crappy, disappointing life that will never be nearly as happy as the one you could have had with me. Good-bye.
Ted:Look, Stella, I am not here to win you back. I am here because I need to know that you know you made the biggest mistake of your life.
Ted:You may think that your only choices are to swallow your anger or throw it in someone's face. But there is a third option; you can just let it go. And only when you do that is it really gone, and you can move forward.
(From S04E06 - Happily Ever After)
I loved this scene. This was the first scene that came to my mind when I read today's challenge. And it came in timely in my life, too. I was never good at dealing with anger, especially towards the opposite sex, but Ted me taught me how.
Plus, this scene introduced mo to Regina Spektor's Better, a future theme song for SC Days with Quini. HAHA.
I would say the latest season finale, but that would just be the Charlie (of The Perks of Being a Wallflower) way of thinking that your favorite book will always be the last book you’ve read.
With that said, this is my favorite episode.
Shelter Island - S04E05
The episode where Ted was left at the altar.
I remember this as the time when I was the only one watching HIMYM in our high school class back then, and I had to practically beg one of my friends to watch it so I can talk about it. That’s how it struck me as an episode.
“Listen. You’re gorgeous. But the trouble is, you know it, and you think you can treat people like dirt because of it. Well, I’m sorry, but I’m really not that desperate.”—Sam Jones, Slam (by Nick Hornby)
